In May, the motorcycles slightly increased comparing with last month; but slightly lower than a year earlier. This month, the production and sales reached 1,436,000 and 1,411,000 units, up 2.6% and 4.4% than that of last month. Comparing with last May, the production and sales were down 0.6% and 1.3%. To be specific, the production and sales of two-wheeled reached 1,256,000 and 1,229,000 units, down 3.3% and 4.1% year on year. The production and sales of three-wheeled were 180,000 units and 182,000 units, up 23.5% and 22.2% year on year.
For the first five months, the accumulated production and sales of motorcycles reached 6,334,000 and 6,297,000 units respectively, down 5.1% and 5.6% from the previous year. The decrease rate continued to narrow.
