In April, the motorcycles slightly declined comparing with last month; and roughly in line with a year earlier. This month, the production and sales reached 1,399,000 and 1,352,000 units, down 1.9% and 5.3% than that of last month. Comparing with last April, the production was up 1.1% while the sales were down 0.3%. To be specific, the production and sales of two-wheeled reached 1,216,000 and 1,165,000 units, down 1.4% and 4.4% year on year. The production and sales of three-wheeled were 184,000 units and 187,000 units, up 21.5% and 35.4% year on year.
For the first four months, the accumulated production and sales of motorcycles reached 4,897,000 and 4,885,000 units respectively, down 6.4% and 6.7% from the previous year. The decrease rate narrowed 2.7 percentage points and 2.3 percentage points comparing with Q1.
