In May, the motorcycles witnessed growth monthly but continued to decline yearly. This month, the production and sales reached 1,440,000 and 1,425,000 units, up 4.4% and 5.4% than that of last month. Comparing with last May, the production and sales were both down 4.8%. The decrease rates narrrowed comparing with last month. To be specific, the production and sales of two-wheeled reached 1,300,000 and 1,281,000 units, down 2.7% and 3% year on year. The production and sales of three-wheeled were 141,000 units and 145,000 units, down 20.7% and 18.5% year on year.
For the first five months, the accumulated production and sales of motorcycles reached 6,658,000 and 6,651,000 units respectively, down 3.4% and 3.9% from the previous year. The decrease rates slightly enlarged comparing with the first four months.
