After the development more than half a century, especially that achieved from the reform and opening-up over 30 years, China automotive industry has achieved remarkable brilliant achievements, with the volume of either production or sales have been above 10 million units this year. In the face of such a new challenge, how to give play to the association to promote the healthy and rapid development of China’s automotive industry has become not only the requirement for the development of automotive industry but also an important topic and hard work for the association for a period of time to come.
        For more than twenty years, China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) has made positive contributions to the development of China’s automotive industry, with the service purpose of “Provide Services, Reflect Requests,Regulate Actions and Set up Platforms” strictly adhered.In order to adapt to the needs for development of the
industry in new situation, China Association of Automotive Manufacturers (CAAM) will be focusing on the following tasks: investigation and research on the important issues, which relating to the industrial policy and its development,to safeguard the interest of the whole industry, reflect the demands of the industry actively and provide a scientific decision-making basis for the related state department promulgating the policies to push forward the sound and rapid development as well as the upgrade of the industry. Moreover, with the improvement on all self-discipline systems of administration and the formulation and implementation of the code of professional ethics within the industry, to propel the industry honest and trust construction, vigorous attempts will be made to standardize and improve the production and market order in the industry based on the self-discipline and restraint mechanisms of administration. Additionally,great efforts will be placed on the development of domestic and foreign economic and technical communication and on furthering the implementation of the development strategy of “Bringing In” and “Going Global” in the industry to advance the continuous improvement of the core competence of China automotive industry in the process of its integration with the international automotive industry. Furthermore, in order for CAAM to improve its comprehensive quality, service function and service level and to raise its profile and reputation in the domestic and international automotive industry, the internal structural and mechanism reform must be carried out energetically within CAAM to improve its performance and set up a high-quality talent team brimming with vigor.
        Looking ahead to the future, China automotive industry will merge with the global automobile industry with a new gesture. It will greet friends and cooperative partners all around the world with more broad mind to satisfy the human’s demand in material and culture with more splendid achievements. We believe that China Association of Automotive Manufactures (CAAM) will play a more important role and make a greater contribution in the inevitable process of China automotive industry growing into a great power in the global automobile industry.
